Though oddly named, the GiiKER Super Decoder is a super fun, problem-solving and logic-based portable game with over 600 levels for some good old fashioned family challenge.
Some of the best ways to learn, at any age, are when you’re doing something that’s a lot of fun. So, puzzle games and challenges can really do a number on your brain, in a good way, at least when they’re designed well. That applies to a neat little gadget called the GiiKER Super Decoder. It’s basically a handheld coding game with over 600 levels — 100 regular and 500 advanced — that’s excellent at helping kids develop early problem-solving skills. Don’t you worry, though, it’s great for adults too. It has a solo mode and a duo mode, so you can play with others, and while it’s pretty easy to learn, it takes a lot to master.
It has a retro-futuristic design and looks like something plucked right out of an 80s children’s cartoon. A series of illuminated panels pockmark the front, with a big orange dial at the bottom serving as the main control. It features immersive sound effects, offers tons of replayability and will keep you and your family occupied for hours. It’s especially well suited for those who love puzzles, like the Rubik’s cube.
But how do you play the Super Decoder games?
The point of the game is to break the four-digit color code, and you have to do it within seven steps or tries. As you play you use logical reasoning and problem solving to discern the correct pattern. It gives you instant feedback and interactive hints, so you’re not completely guessing. The game mode you choose decides whether you get hints in an easy mode or more advanced indirect hints. So, realistically, you decide how easy or difficult the game is.
Because it’s a handheld and portable, it’s travel-friendly. You can keep everyone occupied on a long car ride, at grandma’s where there’s no modern tech or games, or even during some downtime, wherever that ends up being. That price isn’t half bad either.

Who is it for?
