HOTO SNAPBLOQ is a modular set of precision tools that comes in cases which snap, link, and organize your bits. It’s a super cool and useful way to keep your project space(s) organized, but also helps make sure you don’t lose your shit — misplace your tools.

I’m always losing my damn screwdrivers, bits, and accessories. Each time I need to do a project, I need to go on a hunt before I can start. Every. Single. Time. It’s not always because I misplace my tools either. Usually, someone in the house used them and didn’t put them back. But regardless, it’s obvious I need a better organization system. Now, I do have an electric screwdriver and that has changed the game for me — because it comes with a portable carrying case for the bits and extras. However, the geniuses over at HOTO Tools have come up with something that I think is incredible. It’s called the HOTO SNAPBLOQ, and it’s a modular series of tools, including a screwdriver set, rotary set, and more, which all snap together.

Because that might sound a little confusing, let’s break it down. Each module from the SNAPBLOQ has a different precision tool and compatible bits or accessories. For example, the screwdriver master set has the electric screwdriver and a host of bits. The mini rotary set includes a bunch of precision rotary tools like grinders, polishers, sander add-ons, and more. You can use each tool set, or module, individually, but when you’re done you snap the cases together so it creates one easy-access tool kit. It’s like a pocket toolbox, yo.

It’s perfect for tinkerers, engineers, repair aficionados, and anyone that needs a precision kit, available, at some point in time. And because everything fits neatly inside the case, you won’t lose your shit between projects like I do.

What makes the HOTO SNAPBLOQ so interesting?

Besides the modularity, and the fact it all snaps together, each tool is purpose built for tinkering and distinct projects. The mini drill has three speed settings, including 600 RPMs, 900, and 1200, with a bevy of drill bits designed to bore through various materials. Comparatively, the mini rotary tool has a speed range of 15,000 RPMs to 22,000, which, if you don’t know numbers, is impressive for something of this size.

An advanced brushless motor with planetary reduction gears powers all three precision tools. The gears offer higher torque, stability, and yet still fit in a lightweight, compact size. Plus, a HOTO smart chip helps prevent over-tightening, over-heating, and the delicate components you’re working with. No more stripping screws. Also, built-in circular LEDs, to help illuminate your workspace, up to 60 minutes of runtime with the 800mAh batteries — and USB Type-C charging — round out the list of features. Not to mention, each tool is constructed with premium aluminum, so they’re durable, and have an anti-slip design.

When in their cases, you can stack them, customize the layout with magnets, such as linking them in a chain on your desk, and more. It’s also super easy to stow the entire kit in a day bag, backpack or satchel. Heck, even a purse. HOTO has plans to develop more premium kits, including those for other projects. Even more interesting, the modules will be open-source for 3D printing, so you can build your own custom sets. And all of those can stack and link, just like these.

Who is it for?

Tinkerers, gadget lovers, and crafters who need precision tools to work with their projects. Realistically, everyone can use these tools if they have a need.
