iPolish smart nails are the next evolution in fashion

Watching my wife and daughter do their nails, or get them done, I’ve realized it’s nothing short of a miracle they turn out great almost every time. Especially my daughters nails. She squirms, talks non-stop and can barely stay focused while the nail crew is doing their damndest to get things looking pristine. But I’ve always wondered if there was a better, less permanent way to change their colors and styles. Well, this year at CES, a company called iPolish showed off smart nails. Yes, smart nails that you can adjust using a mobile app.

They’re not cheap, but the starter kit comes with two sets of nails, in sizes 0 to 11 to fit most fingernails, and a wand. The iPolish Magic Wand is the key to the entire setup. You press the nail into the wand and it changes the color of the adornment — with over 400 colors to choose from on demand. The wand sends an electric pulse to the specialized acrylic nails to change the color you want. The wand itself pairs with your phone and you select the colors through the mobile app. The nails glue onto your nails like any other fake nails. It’s all pretty neat.

What else is there to know about iPolish smart nails?

The starter kit is $95 and comes with two sets of nails, the magic wand, and a USB-C cable to charge the wand. You also get Hyper Glue, a quick dry clear top coat, a duel-edge designer metal cuticle tool, a mini buffer and an acetone-free wipe. The set also comes with a QR activation code so you can start using the app and nails. One QR code is valid for up to 30 days of use through the mobile app. Apparently, that’s the standard period of wear for iPolish nails. Nail refills are about $6.50 per kit, with two nail sets per kit, and the 30 day QR code as well.

Shipping for the first consumer-ready product kits begins in June 2026 so if you pre-order you’ll be waiting a while.
