Luke, from Coddle, is a super versatile convertible sofa chaise with built-in storage, smart features, and the option to easily turn it into a queen-sized bed. Talk about badass furniture, am I right?

You wouldn’t normally consider couches to be high tech, or at least I wouldn’t. That’s true even when they incorporate smart features like electronic recliner controls, ambient lighting or outlets. But I happened upon a couch, available at Costco, no less, that’s incredibly versatile and designed to do, well, a little bit of everything. It’s a couch, so you can sit, lounge, and chillax on it, like any other. But you can also sleep on it, store gear, stream, and recharge your electronics. I realize I need to provide the receipts now, so let’s plop down and veg out.

The couch, called Luke — yes, like the name — is from Coddle. A brand already known for innovative furniture with its viral Switch Sleeper. But Luke is a sofa chaise with a convertible design. After a simple trundle pull, it converts into a queen-sized bed, excellent for guests, family, or yourself if you just want to lay down and get some shuteye.

What else can Luke, the convertible sofa chaise, do?

Okay, so a couch and a bed. Cool.

That’s not all it does. The chaise is reversible, and can be placed on the right or left side of the sofa, with built-in storage underneath. Meanwhile, the stain-resistant 100% polyester fabric rests atop a solid FSC-certified hardwood frame which is both tough and eco-conscious. An integrated power strip gives you a place to plug in your gear while you relax with USB-A, USB-C and dual outlets.

It gives you a dedicated space to stow your blankets, pillows, and seasonal gear. It gives you a power strip to recharge, power your electronics, and truly relax. It’s versatile with the option to swap to a queen-sized bed or move the chaise to either side of the sofa. I know I’m just repeating myself at this point, but that’s quite a bit.

The downside is Luke is only available at select Costco locations. It may not be available near you. I know I’ve checked and there are no Costcos near us that have them, yet. Bummer.

Who is it for?

Those who demand more functionality out of their couches or chaise lounges. Luke is a queen-sized sleeper, reversible chaise, has built-in storage and a power strip.
