Maybe you caught the coverage, or maybe not, but recently I had the opportunity to review the VIAIM RecDot earbuds, which feature an AI assistant built-in. By all rights, these are true wireless earbuds like any other — they even have a wireless charging case — but they do something very different from other buds.
While wearing the earbuds, you can activate an automatic transcription mode which records and transcribes local conversations. This is excellent during work settings or in conferences, as you can play back the recordings or read the transcriptions. They also translate speech into various languages, in real-time, and the AI assistant will also build out note summaries and to-do lists for you.
The VIAIM RecDot earbuds are an excellent productivity companion for business professionals, students, speakers, teachers, and everyone that might benefit from quick AI assistance like this. And the best part, they’re on sale right now for $35 off. That might not seem like a massive discount, but it drops the already reasonable price of $249 down to $214. When you consider they’re about the same price as most comparable earbuds, and break down the excellent features, you’ll see that is indeed a beyond reasonable price.
That deal is good on Amazon when you clip the $35 off on-page coupon. You can also shop at VIAIM’s store directly and save an extra 15% when you use code VIAIM15 at checkout (until June 30).

The Viaim RecDot earbuds offer 36 hours of battery life with the wireless charging case, about 9 without. They utilize smart active noise cancelation to reduce noise by up to 48 decibels, so you can hear your audio streams better in crowded and noisy environments. You also get a reliable transparency mode for passthrough so you can remain aware of your surroundings if you’re out running, for example. They’re Hi-Res certified supporting the LHDC codec with bitrates up to 1,000 Kbps. They also sound fantastic thanks to 11mm titanium-plated diaphragms, a dynamic driver unit, and an N52-grade neodymium magnet. Plus, you can use them to take calls hands-free, as you might expect.
The craftsmanship is top-notch. They’re lightweight, feel incredibly soft in the ears, and when you’re wearing them for hours at a time there’s virtually no irritation. The case is also light and super small, and fits right in your pocket.
The VIAIM AI assistant in action
But where they really shine, and where they really stand out, is the built-in AI support. Via the onboard AI meeting assistant, they can record calls and meeting audio, as well as offer live transcription. Better than that, you can view language translations in real-time as the audio is being transcribed — in up to 14 different languages.
After you record a conversation or meeting and have access to the transcription, you can call upon the in-app AI assistant to do more. It can extract summaries, allowing you to review everything at a glance, or share with someone who wasn’t present. Alternatively, it can extract actionable to-do items as a follow-up to the meeting itself. It’s a lot like using ChatGPT to summarize content, only here, it’s real-world stuff.
You can read more about it, and my experience, in the VIAIM RecDot AI earbuds review, or head over to the store of your choice to grab some. With the current deals, I definitely recommend it if you need a solid pair of earbuds.
