Mother’s Day is right around the corner and while there are plenty of places to shop, and plenty of deals happening beforehand, I know that, for me personally, I need some help to pick out that special gift that’s just right. Sure, you can read one of the hundreds of other literal guides on this topic or you could listen to somebody who spends every day, all year, looking at gadgets, gifts and tech, sorting through hundreds if not thousands of excellent options. I have a pretty good idea of what works, what will resonate with people and what won’t. Don’t believe me? Check out Techigar’s awesome line-up of innovative tech blurbs.
Anyway, let’s get back to the matter at hand — Mother’s Day. Here are some nifty Mother’s Day gift ideas that most moms, wives, partners, and matriarchal figures will enjoy.
1. East Oak Pop-up Screen House: An outdoor covered area just for Mom
No bugs. No dust or dirt. Plenty of shade. An amazing little nook, wherever Mom may roam. That’s exactly what she can expect from the East Oak Pop-Up screen houses. There are several in varying sizes, starting at $100 for the four feet by four feet option. If you want to give Mom and company more room, you can expand all the way up to 12 feet or four-to-five-person tents. They’re screened in, providing UV protection from the sun, insect protection and a portable yet stable tent that can be used anywhere. Whether Mom wants to sit in the backyard, somewhere at the beach in the shade, or at a park, that’s totally possible. These compact, and wind-resistant portable houses are the perfect companion for relaxing in the great outdoors. Every Mom likes a little fresh air with some peace and quiet, right?
2. The Resort: A sophisticated wine coozy for the bottle
Usually, you put a coozy on the can or the glass, not the bottle. But The Resort from Puffin Drinkwear changes things up a little. It’s a cute, fuzzy robe for your wine bottle. Yes, you read that correctly, the bottle. Made specifically to keep 750 milliliter bottles cool, this faux robe offers multiple layers of cozy, cool-locking insulation. In other words, your wine in the bottle stays chill for longer. Hell to the yeah. Mom is really going to love this one. And if it’s not for Mom, let’s just say you’re earning some brownie points here. They say the craziest moms drink wine from the bottle. Well, here you go.
3. Shaker & Spoon Springtime Sips Collection
Fruity, floral, or savory, chances are pretty high that your mom, wife, girlfriend, or partner loves delicious beverages. Who doesn’t? That’s why the Shaker & Spoon Springtime Sips Collection is a great choice. Every drink kit comes with precisely what you need to make a scrumptious, fruity beverage. From the Danger Juice kit to the Ozwald or the Blood & Sage kit, you’re making some positive choices here. To give you a better example of what these kits include, here’s what’s in the Danger Juice kit: 4 fluid ounces of serrano syrup, 8.4 fluid ounces of pineapple juice, 4 milliliters of Aztec chocolate bitters, 5 umbrella cocktail picks, marigold petals, and a recipe card. For that particular drink, your special someone would need to add some gin, Campari and fresh lemon juice. Basically, every kit is a budding bartender’s dream. Prices start at about $15 and vary from kit to kit.
4. MiiR Everywhere Collection: Lightweight, everyday drinkware she’ll love
Water bottles and tumblers are all the rage these days, and for good reason. Hydration is important, and it’s about time everyone got onboard with that. But you can’t stay on top of your hydration if you don’t have a reliable vessel to store all of that liquid. That’s where MiiR comes in real handy. Offering lightweight drinkware for any occasion, the Everywhere Collection is where it’s at. Grab your choice of a tumbler or a water bottle, whichever mom prefers and in sizes ranging from 16 ounces and up. Prices start at about $18 for the bottles, with the tumblers a little more expensive — starting at $20. Responsibly made with Tritan Renew, a material that offers 50% recycled content, these bottles look stylish without compromising on ethical processes.
5. MadeRight Sofas: Long-lasting couches with an old-school design
I know, I know, the last thing on anyone’s mind right now is an expensive sofa. I get it. This might not be the best pick for mom, but if it’s for your wife or partner, well, you’ll benefit, too. The MadeRight sofas are custom made, with an old-school, attractive aesthetic, but they’re made to last. Why? The brand is on a mission to put an end to “fast furniture” which ends up clogging up a landfill not long after it’s put together. This is quality furniture that won’t be thrown out on a whim. Not to mention it’s comfortable, made with super high-quality materials, and cushions that have the ideal foam density. You’re going to sink right into one of these babies. If she likes quality furniture, she’ll love one of these.
6. Smart Sweets: Low sugar and low calorie candy that still tastes amazing
Sweets are obviously a staple of holidays like this, but the problem with conventional sweets is they’re not usually good for you. Smart Sweets’ tasteful selection of goodies turns that idea on its head. These are low calorie, low sugar alternatives that borrow from the candies you know and love. Sweet Fish, Sourmelon Bites, Peach Rings, Sour Blast Buddies, they’re all delicious, indulgent, and guilt-free. The variety packs include a healthy selection of candies, with 3 grams of sugar per bag, no artificial sweeteners, and 92% less sugar than traditional candy options. They’re also plant-based. Yes, please. Caramels, hard candy, sour candy, sweet candy, there’s an option for every candy lover.
7. Halcyon Coast: Natural fragrances inspired by the sun-drenched California coasts

Mom, wife, mother-in-law, they all like to smell nice and, even better, they like their home to smell nice. By gifting them one of Halcyon Coast’s excellent fragrances, you’d really be helping them out. These are nostalgic, distinct scents meticulously crafted to evoke experiences you’d only find in California. Allow me to explain. Taking a stroll down sunset boulevard feels, smells and evokes emotions a certain way. Hitting a sun-splashed water or theme park, yep, that’s a whole thing. Walking down the Santa Monica pier, barefoot, with grains of sand lapping at your feet and the scents and sounds of wonder in the air. Okay, while I was daydreaming with words, you got the point. With scents like Malibu, Boardwalk, Cali Dream, Lemonella, and Serenity, you’ll keep everyone happy — these are wonderful aromas. Cali Dream, for example, features vanilla, sugar, Peru balsam, copaiba and cedarwood. Malibu is like taking a trip to a beach with coconut, bergamot, fresh sea salt, vanilla, amber and musk. They offer a variety of products, too, including candles, room sprays, and fragrance card air fresheners.
8. LEGO Icons Flower Bouquet Building Set: Give her unique flowers that will last
I know what you’re probably thinking. LEGOs? Come on, dude! But hear me out. Flowers, the real live flowers, don’t last very long. But these LEGO flowers will essentially last forever. If your mom or wife doesn’t want to build them, you could do it for her. Throw them in a vase for some extra brownie points and add a few extra gifts. Believe it or not, this iconic LEGO set makes for tasteful decorations in any home. The mixed bouquet includes fifteen stem and flower varieties, with familiars like roses, snapdragons, poppies, daisies, asters, and more. They’re much more realistic than other toy-like LEGO sets. Plus, you can truly customize the design by building them any way you want. Make the stems shorter, longer, or mix and match flowers to your heart’s content. They always say it’s the thought that counts and going all ‘LEGO master builder’ for Mom would definitely count.
9. Kendra Scott: Beautiful jewelry that won’t break the bank
Jewelry is a staple of Mother’s Day, anniversaries, birthdays, and everyone knows it. But a big issue that I have with jewelry, and maybe you do too, is that a lot of is outrageously priced, and not because I don’t like expensive things. You can find the same exact necklace, the same ring, or even the same bracelet at two retailers, priced wildly different. It has almost nothing to do with the type of material, from gold to silver, or the type of stone. Diamond is the most expensive, of course, but even the price of those fluctuates. So, what am I getting at? If you’re in the market for jewelry and want to gift something attractive, thoughtful, but not too costly, Kendra Scott is a great place to look. Watch bands, necklaces, earrings, they all look fantastic and they’re all reasonably priced. But just because they’re affordable doesn’t mean they’re made cheap, either. Mom will love whatever you pick out.
10. Solight: Beautiful solar-powered lanterns
The Solight lanterns come in several styles, including the unique QWNN and the Mini and MegaPuff varieties. They’re solar-powered, as the name implies, but several double as a power bank. That means you can plug your phone in to charge and all the supplied power is generated via sustainable green energy. They’re excellent for camping, spending time outdoors, lighting backyards, patios, and so much more. They collapse to a compact size that’s easy for stowing in a bag. Plus, they’re waterproof, so you can actually take them in the water. Next time Mom’s in the hot tub, she’ll be happy to have some of that Solight glow.
11. Boox Palma 2: Distraction-free reader with a stunning display
Does Mom love to read? The BOOX Palma 2 is a gorgeous mobile device that uses a Carta 1200 epaper display — it looks like paper. That makes it much more pleasing to view books and content on than your average blue-light vibrant screen. All text and images are crisp and clear thanks to the 300 PPI (pixels per inch) resolution. It’s lightweight, easy to grip with one hand, and runs Android 13 with an octa-core (eight-core) processor for balanced performance. It pairs with the BOOX NeoReader app to access up to 20 document formats, highlighting, annotation and translation support, and much more. It comes with the Google Play Store pre-installed so Mom can use all of her favorite apps, too.
12. Philips Sleep Headphones with Kokoon: Thin earbuds to improve sleep

Designed to help you get a better night’s sleep, these uniquely designed headphones are safe to wear all night. They nestle, snug in the ear, and work great even for side sleepers. Kokoon’s library of curated sleep meditations and soundscapes will soothe you to sleep. But you can also choose to listen to your favorite podcast, or whatever you want to. A ‘smart fade out’ feature ensures the volume drops as you drift off, but even while fading out, the headphones still mask disturbances through fading in white noise. All of this is accessed through the Kokoon app, of course, which acts as a companion to the headphones. They’re not wireless, they’re wired, but the cable is designed to stay out of your way and not tangle at night, even if you toss and turn. Help mom on her journey to excellent sleep.
13. A Dozen Rosés Set from In Good Taste: 12 unique mini wine bottles from around the world

Instead of gifting 12 roses that will wilt, why not gift 12 unique mini wine bottles from around the world? That’s the idea behind In Good Taste’s bundle, which includes a bevy of wines from dry Italian rosé to local Californian blends. Some examples include Santa Barbera Country Rosé, Dry Creek Valley Rosé, Vin Gris of Pinot Gris, and more. Every 6 ounce bottle is the perfect portion to enjoy a tall glass of wine and it’s all packaged safely inside a gift box. But if you want to try something different, In Good Taste has a few other options, as well. There are boxes with wine and chocolates, select types of wine from luxury to sparkling options and much more. It’s worth taking a look.
