Designed with maximum portability in mind, the Audio-Technica AT-SB727 Sound Burger is a portable turntable for use, well, anywhere. It incorporates wireless Bluetooth or an included audio cable for vinyl listening any way you like.

Offering wired or wireless listening, up to 12 hours of battery life, with Bluetooth built-in, and a high-quality belt-drive system the Audio-Technica Sound Burger is quite figuratively a portable record and vinyl player. Forget 8-Tracks. Forget cassettes. Goodbye CDs. Go true vinyl, anywhere, anytime. The Sound Burger can play 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records. It opens up, you load the record and play. That’s it.

The die-cast aluminum alloy platter, damping design for better audio, high-precision DC motor and USB charging offer some excellent usability and performance features. Besides that it comes with a 3.5mm male to dual RCA male audio cable, and USB Type-A to USB Type-C charging cable. It also comes in three colors, including white, black, and yellow, though the white seems difficult to find. Some retailers only carry one color. At any rate, it has a very retro 80s vibe going on and looks pretty darn cool. Rock on goobers.

What’s so portable about the Sound Burger?

Think of it as a very large Walkman, but for records. You can connect a Bluetooth speaker to play music loudly or some wireless headphones. Ideal for social gatherings, compact living spaces, picnics, outdoor listening, even home listening, it’s a record player through and through. It’s designed to be entry-level, which means accessible but still great audio quality.

If you’re an audiophile or a purist you might want to look elsewhere. But if you just want a reliable little vinyl player with some modern trappings you can’t go wrong with the Sound Burger. What a name, right?

Who is it for?

Anyone who wants to play vinyl and doesn’t really care about pristine or pure sound quality. It’s portable and runs on battery, too.
