Kini SafeAlert is a small, lightweight wireless motion sensor (2.25 by 1.5 by 0.75 inches) that tells you when your security has been bypassed or when dangerous or valuable items are being tampered with. You get real-time SMS alerts within ten seconds of activity detection.

How does the Kini SafeAlert work?

The setup process and how Kini operates are relatively simple. You merely place or attach Kini SafeAlert — via the built-in keychain loop — to whatever it is you want to track. That includes private items, dangerous gear, valuables, hazardous items and off-limits areas. Then, you connect Kini to WiFi, which is necessary to facilitate the alerts.

When Kini detects tampering, movement, or activity, it will send a real-time SMS alert to you directly. No alerts or notifications go to a third-party, security service, alarm system or law enforcement. Only you, and within ten seconds of detection. That allows you to take immediate action, with ample time to react before something untoward happens. For example, before storage or cabinets are stolen from, before weapons or firearms are handled or before other areas are intruded upon.

You still want items to be securely and safely stored. The Kini SafeAlert does not remove that requirement. But it does tell you when someone bypasses traditional security or tampers with items they’re not supposed to.

It comes with a “lifetime service plan,” which is free of charge. As long as the Kini has WiFi you’ll receive alerts at no extra cost under a “reasonable” limit. According to the FAQ: “Users who exceed 450 SMS per year, 45 per month, or 10 per day, should contact us for solutions and alternative service plans.”
