The Reencle Prime is a smart home composter meant for use in the kitchen and indoors, and it’s able to keep the composting process odor and mess-free — exactly what you’d want inside the confines of your home.

If you like greenery, or you like to collect plants then you already know how important composting is, especially if you live in an area with bad soil. But you can make your own healthy compost using different types of waste. There’s also the nasty side effect of gross smells and guck when you do it, which is why most people keep natural composters outdoors. Meats and dairy, rotting fruits and vegetables, egg shells and eggs, they smell like death as they break down. The Reencle Prime home composter solves a lot of that. For starters, it goes in your kitchen and works as an odor-free mess-free solution to food waste. A three-layer system ensures no gross smells escape. Meanwhile, the food and waste you throw inside breaks down for usable, healthy compost and soil.

It’s low-maintenance, ultra-quiet during operation only producing about 28 decibels of noise and comes with everything you need to get started including carbon filters and a compost starter pack. You even get a handy shovel to mix it all up.

How does the Reencle Prime home composter work?

Rather than dehydrating waste, like other composters, the Reencle Prime breaks it down continuously with microbes similar to how your gut breaks down the food that you eat. In as little as 24 hours it can create usable compost. It works as a three step process to keep things odor-free and working good, too. First, it removes bacteria that generate a bad smell through an organic additive. Then, a mesh filter helps clean refined air released in the form of steam through an exhaust filter. Finally, any remaining odors are absorbed using an activated carbon filter.

You can dump in fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, noodles and grain, bread, pastries, pizza crust, sausage, salami, cheese, watermelon rinds, cooked eggs, orange peels, you name it. Even leftover eggshells or used coffee grounds are excellent for composting, if you didn’t already know.

You can then take the compost or soil and use it in your garden, with potted plants, tree beds, seed gardens, even to fertilize your lawn. The point is your food waste actually goes somewhere useful instead of the regular garbage. Best of all, no odors and no mess.

It looks like the carbon filter replacements are $35, a carbon filter refill is $30, and the mesh filter for Reencle Prime is $12. You can check those prices at the Reencle Accessories page. The filters need to be replaced every nine to twelve months. Meanwhile, the microbes replenish through natural reproduction so you only need to add them once — during your first setup.
