The Urban Arrow FamilyNext Pro is a sizable cargo eBike for the growing family. It has a bucket seat in front for kids, cargo, and more, and a bunch of excellent smooth-riding features. Come, take a look.

Urban Arrow is a top-tier eBike maker that, until recently, primarily catered to the European market — Amsterdam, specifically. But with the launch of its latest model, the FamilyNext Pro, it’s now entering the U.S. and Canadian markets. Why should you care? Because the FamilyNext Pro is a sizable cargo eBike, designed for family rides, and meant to replace your secondary car or vehicle. In other words, it’s a viable candidate to take over those daily trips like school drop-offs, grocery store runs, mail and errand jaunts and casual weekend rides.

As an upgrade to its previous iterations, the FamilyNext Pro features a front suspension fork, for a smoother ride, enhanced illumination on the road with integrated LED lighting, easier access to the front box — via foothold cutouts — expanded space for growing families, stronger and safer construction, and a one-handed seatbelt system. But overall, you’ll notice the titular front bucket offers plenty of space to store kids (family) and cargo. Like Urban Arrow’s previous bikes, the front box is modular, too. For example, you can attach a sun cover to give the little passengers some much-needed shade during an outing.

What makes Urban Arrow’s FamilyNext Pro cargo eBike so special?

Well, first, just look at it. The unique design gives almost everything away. That front box or cargo area doubles as a ridealong seat for littles and other family members. It’s a safe, sustainable alternative to hopping in a gas vehicle and hitting your local roadways. The 545 watt-hour battery offers a range of up to 31 miles depending on conditions, like weight, terrain and weather. Class 1 pedal assist provides support thanks to the Bosch Smart System Cargo Line Gen4 motor with 85 Newton-meters of torque, and it can hit top speeds up to 20 miles per hour.

Smart system connectivity and unique Auto and Cargo modes kick in and provide adaptive support during your ride while going up hills or riding against headwinds, ensuring even heavy loads don’t bog you down. Plus, the sleek new rounded box design is more aerodynamic and goes with the flow. The airflow, that is.

If you’re into the specifications and stats, it also features Magura brakes, an Enviolo Heavy Duty shifter, a Gates Carbon Belt Drive, and the front suspension fork is a Suntour Mobile 34 CGO. You can always add in an optional Bosch ConnectModule upgrade for GPS tracking, motor locks and theft alerts — that gives you peace of mind when you have to leave the bike for a moment or two.

All of those features and added power translate to a smoother ride for you and your passengers wherever you choose to have your next bike ride. You will need to find a local dealer that handles Urban Arrows’ bikes in your area.
