The Clearscource whole home filtration system is installed between the incoming water supply and the rest of the faucets and water sources in your home. It offers multi-stage filtration for everything so water comes in clean, fresh, tasting better, and smelling better. Most of all, it’s safe from contaminants and VOCs.

Most of the time, when you install a filter it’s on your main faucet. They also sell individual filters for drinking water, filter systems for washing machines and appliances, and you can also buy showerheads with filters built-in. The reason is straightforward — to filter toxins out of the water you drink or come into contact with. But that also means keeping up with all of those systems individually and changing out as many filters. Clearsource has a whole home water filtration system that is, quite figuratively, a house-wide cleaning system. Once installed, it protects every faucet and every water source in your home, including your appliances.

Water coming into the filtration system from the outside passes through three total stages, each with varying systems. For example, the first stage is a 5 micron filter that reduces iron, rust, and sediment. The next stage is a 0.5 micron filter, which removes a ton of contaminants like bacteria, cyst like Giardia, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), insecticides, pesticides, solvents, chloramines, and much more. The second stage also vastly improves the taste and smell of the water. Finally, a third stage, called the VirusGuard filter, removes much, much more, like E.coli, viruses, heavy metals, forever chemicals, and so on. By the time the water reaches your mouth, skin, or clothes, it’s as fresh as can be.

Why the Clearsource whole home filtration system?

For starters, the design is sleek and minimalistic, which means it takes up less space and won’t ruin the look or feel of whatever room it’s installed in, which is probably going to be your basement or garage anyway. Moreover, all of the filtration systems are housed inside a premium, protective, powder-coated aluminum chassis. That three-stage filtration system is easy to maintain, you just open up the case and swap out the components. A replacement kit with all three filters is about $300 and should last between three to six months depending on the cleanliness of the water coming in at the source.

The biggest downside, if you can call it that, is that it requires a professional installation because you need plumbing skills and must be familiar with plumbing codes and practices. It’s not a DIY-installable system, unless you’re a plumber. But once it’s installed you can change out the filters yourself, which is a must honestly. It could be expensive with the filters coming out every three months but that might be worth the cost alone for fresh, clean water.
