The Boox Tappy is a lightweight and two-button wireless page turner to make e-book reading, web browsing, and remote listening effortless.

Picture this. You’re laying down in bed or relaxed on your couch. You have your Boox e-reader propped up, the font big enough so you can see from your viewing angle and you’re enjoying a solid book. Or, let’s do one better, maybe you’re in a warm bath with the e-reader propped up against the wall or back of the bathtub basin. There’s one big flaw with this setup, as enjoyable as it is. It’s nearly impossible to remotely turn the page or interact with the device. You have to sit forward, sit up, or even get the device wet if you’re in the bath. Boox Tappy is an ingenious way to fix that problem. It’s a small, Bluetooth transmitter to make all your interactions effortless.

With a simple tap you can change the page, scroll through extensive content on a web page, or interact with your device without ever touching the screen. It’s compact, lightweight, and ergonomic. Meanwhile, it has a long-lasting and reliable battery with USB-C charging. It even comes with two spare keycaps as a backup to replace what’s there, if you need to. Or, to introduce a little personal customization.

What else can the Tappy wireless page turner do?

Believe it or not, Tappy isn’t just for turning pages. You can also use it while listening to audiobooks, to skip music or playlist tracks, and scroll web pages or other large documents. Ultimately, it’s meant to improve your e-reading, listening, or scrolling experience, it really depends on what you’re doing with your Boox device. There are three modes to accommodate this, as you might expect, one for reading, multimedia, and browsing.

There are two buttons, left and right, which do different things depending on what mode Tappy is in. Moreover, you can easily swap between active modes by pressing and holding the appropriate button. A status indicator light on the side of the device easily tells you about pairing success, active modes, and battery status at a glance.

The next question is what it’s compatible with, since this is a Boox brand device. I’m not sure if it will work with other tablets and e-readers, it does support Bluetooth, but no promises there. As for the compatible Boox devices, those include the Note Air5 C, Palma 2 Pro, and “other Boox devices with Firmware V4.2 or later with Bluetooth functionality.”

Who is it for?

Existing Boox owners who want an easily, remote-friendly way to interact with their devices while reading, scrolling, or listening.
