Fender’s Mix headphones are wireless headphones like any other with one really cool twist. They offer premium fidelity audio with a customizable design. You can swap or mix and match components, but they also offer three audio modes for advanced versatility.

You could definitely say the headphone market is saturated as hell. Earbuds, headphones, audio equipment, there are so many brands, so many competitors and it’s not like anyone is starving for good equipment. There’s a lot to choose from. And Fender isn’t making your decision any easier with its newest headphones. Rightfully dubbed Fender’s Mix headphones they offer premium, studio-grade audio at a reasonable price. But what really sets them apart from anything else is their comprehensive design and modular engineering.

That’s right, you can adjust and customize the headphones to your needs. Not just through a mobile app and a few setting changes, like actually customize them physically. You can swap, mix, and match components for a unique look and feel, but also to add new features and functionality. They’re even easy to service and upgrade so a single pair could last you for quite a long time. But let’s look closer at some of the specifications and features.

What are the specs of Fender’s Mix headphones?

Impressive, is all I have to say, starting with 100 hours of battery life (ANC off) and 52 hours with ANC on. Meanwhile, a quick 15 minute charge will get you an additional hour of playtime, while two hours of charging gets you a full battery. They come bundled with an FWD Tx USB-C wireless transmitter for low-latency lossless connectivity, excellent for audiophiles and beat purists. Gamers too. That module is tucked inside the left earcup so you don’t lose it. Did you know Bluetooth connections really don’t deliver lossless audio? You also get a 3.5mm AUX input for wired connections when you need it.

But perhaps most exciting, there are three different audio modes you can swap between using the FWD Tx. Lossless mode supports 96kHz and 24-bit pure high-fidelity audio, much better than CD quality. Low latency allows you to stream high-quality audio with minimal delay, at less than 20ms, which is ideal for gaming and streaming. Finally, Auracast allows you to broadcast to multiple devices effortlessly. Advanced hybrid ANC blocks out ambient and distracting noise and spatial audio delivers a 360-degree immersive experience where it matters.

A dual microphone is also incorporated for ENC and crystal-clear call audio. So, you can use these to take and answer hands-free calls. Not sure if there’s voice assistant support, but that’s not mentioned so I would guess no. Still, these are, again, impressive and a hell of an achievement for Fender’s first move into the consumer headphones market.

Who is it for?

Audiophiles, music lovers, sound enthusiasts, DJs, mixers, gamers, content creators, musicians, you name it. If you love quality audio, these are for you.
