Magic Mind is a uniquely concocted formula designed to enhance your mental performance thanks to several natural ingredients and caffeine. It also comes in a variety of formats — so you can find your ideal match. There is a caffeine-free option, by the way. They come in two ounce shots, and depending on which kind you drink, you can take them in the morning, midday to fend off your afternoon slump, or before bed.

I ditched coffee for nearly a month and relied solely on Magic Mind and it worked out quite well. So well, in fact, that I decided to re-up my supply. I grabbed a bunch during a buy-one-get-one deal at my local supermarket.

You won’t find any THC or CBD in them, so they’re safe to drink even if you work for a strict employer. They won’t make you get really hyper and crash, like energy drinks. They also don’t seem to be addictive, and after taking some time off my initial batch I didn’t experience any withdrawals or headaches or anything like that. I do have a fairly addictive personality, take that as you will.

But the important question is, are they worth the money and what kind of benefits do they offer? Grab a drink and a snack, preferably some favorites of yours, and let’s twist off the cap and gulp down these shots. That’s nerd-speak for getting the review started.

Why Magic Mind?

I write all day every day for work. It means I have to be creative non-stop and my brain must remain active for long hours. It’s a lot of work and it’s exhausting. I’m not at all suggesting it’s akin to manual labor or hard work others do — just a different kind of work. At the end of the day I usually can’t turn my brain off either. To stay active and keep that kind of mental energy I drink a lot of coffee and water.

Magic Mind promises to keep me at the peak of my productivity, without much added effort. It also hints at the opportunity to drop my traditional supply of caffeine — coffee. That’s good news to me, because as much as I like coffee, it does make me feel worse when I don’t have any. Moreover, it doesn’t help as much later in the day when I’m hitting my afternoon sugar crash. I likely have ADHD, as well, so my crashes can be a little worse than the average you’d get from caffeine alone. I’m sure some of you understand where I’m coming from there.

At any rate, Magic Mind was a solid answer to staying productive and creative, I had the opportunity to give it a try and I took it.

What’s in these drinks?

Now, I’m not exactly what you’d call super health conscious. I don’t have a bad diet, I do exercise, and I do try to stay away from bad stuff as much as possible. However, I do smoke cigars, imbibe — I love beer — and I have tried several different products, including THC and CBD. Not that any of that has to do with what’s in these drinks, but it gives you a solid baseline for what I will and won’t try.

The full list of ingredients is available on Magic Mind’s official site and while it differs from drink type to type, they mainly follow the same inclusions. Common elements are Lion’s Mane, Bacopa Monnieri, and Cognizin, Ceremonial-Grade Matcha, Rhodiola Rosea, Cordyceps, and Vitamin B Complex. You also get some L-Theanine, Ashwagandha, Turmeric, plus Vitamins C and D. They all deliver unique benefits like better memory and mental clarity, sustained energy, and help with balancing stress and anxiety. Though, you shouldn’t turn to Magic Mind to cure any ailments or fix any lasting health issues, it’s not that kind of product.

The ingredients are listed as vegan-friendly, kosher certified, third-party tested for efficacy, and are BPA-free. As the Magic Mind team says, “Each ingredient is supported by independent, peer-reviewed studies.”

Magic Mind does have science-backed research and reports available for the curious. The summary is that out of all study participants that drank Magic Mind, 44% experienced improved attention, 82% experienced lower fatigue, 50% experienced better productivity, 70% experienced lower stress, and 82% experienced lower anxiety. I’m no scientist myself and I don’t have any quantifiable evidence or statistics, but I will say during the review period I felt that many of these things were addressed in my own body and mind.

How do they taste?

For the most part, they taste pretty good and there’s nothing too surprising about them. They’re a mixture of tangy sour and sweet and you can pick up the hints of botanicals and vitamins.

I will say, I do not particularly like the soapy taste and consistency of the Sleep shots. They work good. If not for that I would not have continued using those. It’s not bad and certainly not enough to fire up any gag reflexes but it reminds me of soap, hence the description.

The Original, Free, and Maxx shots are all pleasant and tasty.

What are the Magic Mind drink types?

As of the time of writing, there are four versions of Magic Mind, and I tried all of them.

  • Free — Caffeine-free and sugar free with vitamins, amino acids, and antioxidants.
  • Original — 55mg Caffeine with vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants and 3g of sugar.
  • Maxx — 165mg Caffeine with vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants and 4g of sugar.
  • Sleep — Melatonin-free with calming botanicals and 0g of sugar.

Original is a solid start, whereas Maxx is a good choice when you really need to focus, like when you have a multi-page paper or report due or a big exam coming up. Free is good to take anytime as a quick pick-me-up without sugar or caffeine. It’s also a great alternative if you stay away from both of those things. Finally, Sleep is obviously meant to be a sleep aid before bed, but I personally love that it doesn’t contain melatonin — and it works!

In the mornings, even with coffee, I tend to wake up pretty groggy and take a little while to fully become alert. If I was doing a brainless activity that would not be an issue, but I have to wake up, claim potential articles, get reading and writing. My brain has to be firing on all cylinders, mentally, right from the get-go. Magic Mind helped me do that while I was taking it daily. I swapped back and forth between the Original and Maxx shots depending on how I was feeling. It’s also important to point out that I completely gave up coffee during the trial, too. No coffee in the morning, no coffee in the afternoon, no ice coffee, no espressos, nothing.

How did Magic Mind actually make you feel?

Great. Better than great, actually. I felt awake, alert, productive and had no issues climbing out of a brain fog or getting my mental work kickstarted. Interestingly, I found fewer instances of procrastination which is a pretty big deal for writers. I also hesitate to say that I have felt happier. Now, I’m not talking about valium-level super ridiculously happy-go lucky that you might get from strong medicines. Just an overall improvement to my moods because I was more alert, more present, and was getting better sleep.

I took about one or two shots per day, alternating between Original and Maxx in the mornings and then taking a Sleep at night when I had trouble falling asleep normally. I sprinkled some Free shots in between when I wanted a quick pick-me-up.

As I’ve said, I bought more and I intend to continue drinking Magic Mind daily, beyond what they sent me to try. Moreover, I don’t know exactly how it works, but Magic Mind promises a risk-free trial for up to 100 days. They claim they’ll refund every penny with zero hassle and no need to ship everything back if you’re not satisfied or it doesn’t transform your mental performance. That’s an excellent way to give it a try and check tolerances in your own body.

Magic Mind makes me feel better and more productive. But then the question becomes did I just feel better because I gave up coffee? It’s possible but I don’t think so, and here’s why. Many days, even after drinking multiple cups of coffee, my foggy brain problems persist. Coffee never truly wakes me up to the fullest, heavy doses of caffeine or not. I drink bold and dark coffee, too. Moreover, when I sat down to write or work before Magic Mind, I didn’t have the same motivation and brainpower as I feel I do now. Could that all be a placebo? I suppose. Yet, with Magic Mind I’m more active, more alert, and when I’m not working I feel that I can focus on what I’m doing much, much better. My sleep has improved considerably, too. But the best way to understand is to experience it for yourself.

The beauty about the situation, though, is if you don’t believe me, and you think I’m just marketing and trying to sell a product — which I have no personal connection to, by the way — you can go test it out for yourself. And, you can get your money back if it doesn’t work out.

How about the price?

I will say, the price can be a bit steep if you buy a big supply all at once. It depends on when you buy and what offers are available, but on average it’s about $6 per bottle. 15 bottle bundles are $90, 30 bottle bundles are $179 and 60-packs are $357, but those are also the full price (MSRP). As of writing they are on sale at Magic Mind official and at several retailers, so you can stock up for less.

They sent me four boxes, one of each with 15 bottles per box. By alternating between the Original and Maxx shots they lasted me about a month. The Sleep supply lasted less, obviously, with 15 bottles. But I didn’t take those every night, only when I was having a hard time getting to sleep. The Free I took occasionally when I wanted a pick-me-up and that lasted me about a month, taken sparingly. With the BOGO supply I talked about at a local supermarket I stocked up for about two months.

If anything changes, I’ll come back and update everyone here. Having already tried Magic Mind in the various formats for a month I don’t see that happening, but you never know.
