The Kapo K2 Pro from Ikape is small enough to fit in a backpack or daybag, but powerful enough to brew multiple double espressos anywhere. It has an internal battery, everything you need to brew — minus the coffee grounds — and even has Bluetooth with app controls.
What else can the Kapo K2 portable espresso maker do?
There is an optional stand that you can use to prop up the Kapo K2 Pro at home if you want to brew in a traditional setting. Otherwise, it comes with everything you need to brew on the go, minus the coffee grounds. It weighs 820 grams and is about the size of your average thermos-style cup. It fits easily into a backpack or daybag.
The 13,500mAh battery offers enough power to brew about eight cups of coffee on a single charge, if the water is cold or room temperature and about 50ml each time. Or, that’s enough for about 400 cups of coffee if the water is already hot. It charges via USB-C, so you could plug it into a power bank or power station if you’re off-grid.
Meanwhile, the included 58mm bottomless basket works almost universally with existing coffee accessories, including tampers, espresso distributors, dosing funnels, and paper filters. You can even replace the basket with different options to match your preferred brewing style. If you want a better one for different bean types, variable grind degrees, larger coffee quantities and so forth, you can simply swap it out. As-is, about 18 grams of finely ground coffee beans will brew a double shot espresso. The K2 model (not the Pro) has a smaller 51mm head, versus the 58mm in the K2 Pro. Everything else is identical.
