The Glyph is a beautiful, customizable typewriter-like mechanical keyboard. Full stop. It also has a massively long 2.79-inch display across the top for critical info, per-key RGB illumination, a built-in battery, and cross-platform support. If you like fancy keyboards you’re gonna love this.

Mechanical keyboards are the best for that clickity-clackity feel of your old-school typewriter. They’re not just satisfying to use, they also [generally] come with hot-swappable designs that allow you to swap out keys and other components. The Epomaker Glyph takes all of that, amplifies it times eleven, and adds a massively long 2.79-inch display that runs across the top of the keyboard. It also features beautiful RGB, a respectable 8,000mAh rechargeable battery, magnetic receiver storage and an ergonomic wrist rest. Dayum. Talk about packed to the gills.

It comes with 83 vintage-inspired round keycaps on top of Wisteria Linear V2 Switches. The keys are swappable as is the PCB, for a quick switch swap if you want something different. There’s per-key customizable RGB lighting for each key, as well. If you don’t have a desktop PC, no worries. This keyboard also supports wireless connections with macOS, Android, and iOS. It looks fantastic, best of all, and the price — for what it includes — is not too lofty. I’m really considering getting one to enhance my novel typing sessions. This might — huge emphasis on “might” — help me finish one of my damn books.

What else can the Glyph typewriter-like mechanical keyboard do?

The display across the top is meant to give you important information at a glance. For example, it can share keyboard status, the current time and date, intuitive RGB backlight settings, and showcase GIFs and other pictures of your favorite content, including memes. You can also remap key macros for easy-access to your favorite functions, apps, and beyond.

You can control the RGB, macros, and other settings using the desktop app and drivers. But the keyboard also has a control knob (FN+Knob) that allows you to adjust settings right there directly, no software required. It’s one chonky, retro-inspired typewriter-like mechanical keyboard with a ton of bells and whistles. If you like your keyboards flashy and functional, this is it. The price ain’t too bad either.

Who is it for?

If you like customizable mechanical keyboards with some flair, this is for you. Writers, journalists, novelists, spreadsheet users, office workers, work from home-ers, and everyone that loves a clicky, satisfying keyboard.
