You may already know, but Amazon’s big Spring Sale is underway. It’s a great time to find discounts on a ton of gear, including general electronics, Easter decorations and supplies, and smart home tech. But a couple of deals I want to call out, in particular, include the MEATER Block and MEATER SE, two smart meat thermometers, or probes. We have covered the new MEATER Pro Duo here at Techigar, and the Block and SE are similar. The biggest difference, of course, is that the SE includes a single smart thermometer, versus the MEATER Block, which comes with four probes and the bamboo block charger. They’re excellent at checking meat and food temperatures while you’re cooking, grilling, smoking or even air frying your meals.

We’ll dig in with a little more detail below. But for now, let’s go over the deals on MEATER gear. Starting with the MEATER SE, you can grab it for $55 right now when it’s normally $80, saving you about $25. The more substantial MEATER Block, with four probes, is $190 right now instead of $240, saving you about $50. Compared to their normal pricing, those are some excellent discounts. You won’t find a better smart meat thermometer or probe for around that price, either. They do come with access to a mobile companion app for both Android and iOS, if you’re wondering.

Why would you want to shop these deals on MEATER gear?

Let’s get the biggest question out of the way, shall we? What is a smart meat thermometer or probe, and why would you want one? When you’re cooking, most people go by the color of the meat to gauge done-ness. That’s actually not the best way to do it. In fact, it’s safer to go by internal temperature of the meat. Once it reaches a certain threshold, the meat is ready to consume. Of course, the optimal internal temperature differs from meat to meat. You wouldn’t smoke a brisket to reach the same temperatures as a sirloin grilling on a Habachi, for example. That’s precisely where these MEATER probes come in handy. You can insert them into your meat and get alerts about the temperatures and cooking levels.

More importantly, you can use the information you receive and follow along with guided cooking opportunities. Smart cooking features send you real-time updates about your food prep, right to your phone. The long-range wireless connectivity of these probes accommodates a more set-and-forget style of cooking. They feature a Bluetooth range of up to hundreds of feet or more. The MEATER SE sends the information directly to your phone through the mobile app. Meanwhile, the MEATER Block incorporates a built-in display to give you information on the bamboo charging dock — you can also check in via mobile, if you want.

Regardless of which deals on MEATER you shop, you’re in good hands here and it’s going to completely change the way you cook and prep your food. For the better.
