Litter-Robot has a spinning basin that allows it to self-clean after your cats do their business. The clumps drop down into a dedicated compartment below locking out nasty odors.
Topanga, my cat is my emotional support animal. I love her so much. She’s cuddly, affectionate, and pretty well-behaved. I couldn’t ask for a better furry companion. But also, she drops the meanest, nastiest shits in her litter box. And guess where that’s located? In my office, where I spend most of my day. I keep it pretty clean, but understandably, cats love to go in a fresh box. Just because I get it doesn’t mean they’re not jerks. They know what they’re doing. If you’re scooping manually, you’re just never going to keep up. However, if I were to replace the current box for the Litter-Robot things would be a lot different.
Litter-Robot is a spinning, self-cleaning litter box that sifts out explosive and hazardous waste after each use. So, when Topanga shits, it would clean it, right away. The litter clumps fall into a tightly sealed drawer underneath, keeping the odors at bay. But also, it’s fairly easy to clean and change when it’s time. The biggest benefit is you never have to manually scoop a litter box, ever again. No more sticking your hands in the cat toilet.
What else does Litter-Robot do?
Depending on which model you purchase, the litter box also has a bunch of smart features. For example, cat sensor technology detects when your cat enters or exits the basin, via a weight-sensitive switch. That helps track and record your furry companion’s daily activity, giving you better insight into their health. Just like humans, if they’re not going regularly, something’s up.
I wouldn’t have to worry about Topanga bouncing around inside either. As soon as a cat, or kitty, enters, it stops spinning for safety. Plus, it comes with everything you need — you don’t have to purchase additional accessories. There are accessories available but they’re optional. Moreover, it doesn’t require special litter, just any type that clumps. Litter beads and crystals work, too. Although “litters that are strictly absorbent, non-clumping, loose-clumping, newspaper-based, or wood-based pellets” are not compatible.
Another bonus, if you will, is that there’s a padded step up, which they also have to use when they step out. That helps loosen and remove any litter molecules that are stuck to their paws. I have a wooden unit around the litter box in the office, which not only does a terrible job at trapping odors, but sucks at keeping the litter inside the box. It gets all over my floors thanks to Topanga and company, and I have to vacuum often on top of everything else. So, the fact that the Litter-Robot addresses this is music to my ears.
