I built my core desktop. I’ve actually been building custom PCs for a very long time, well before most of the process was color-coordinated. Definitely, before the process was much easier. But I’m not saying that to make anyone feel bad. I’m pointing out how much simpler the process is today, thanks to convenient and intuitive technologies. Everyone can do it. I’d advise a little research beforehand, and to be careful when you actually get your hands on the parts. Luckily, there are in-depth guides and videos everywhere. Not to mention, one of the best ways to learn is to get your hands dirty, like I did. Of course, there’s the argument that individual parts can be expensive, like the cost of a notable GPU or graphics card. You can offset a lot of those costs by buying your parts during a major sale. A sale like Newegg’s TechTember which offers lightning-fast upgrades for some incredible prices.
There’s also another sale coming soon, as well, called the FantasTech Sale II — which kicks off on October 6th. Between TechTember and the FantasTech sale, you can get all the parts you need to build a kick-ass PC, for gaming, AI, or otherwise, at a ridiculous price. If you buy an AMD CPU during the promo period — that ends September 27th — you can also get your hands on either an MSI MAG 240mm Liquid Cooler, Team Group T-Force 512GB solid-state drive, or Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB kit (2x16GB) of DDR5 RAM. I’ll discuss some of the best offers below, but for now, I think everyone should go check out these sales.
Some of the best offers to shop in these Newegg sales

When you’re building a custom PC, the definitive list of parts you need include a case, motherboard, CPU, CPU cooler — whether liquid or fan-based — graphics card, RAM or memory, a power supply (PSU) and a hard drive or solid-state drive. You can always upgrade more from there, increasing your installed RAM, for example, or upgrading with a better GPU or CPU. The parts have to be compatible, which is where PC Part Picker comes in handy. But as for where you should start, probably the case. Either the case, for the exterior, or the motherboard if you want to start with internals.
The Fractal Design Meshify 3 XL, which is an insanely beautiful case, is $75 off right now during the sale, down to $200 instead of $275. If you want the E-ATX full tower version of the Meshify 3, it’s slightly less, at $160 instead of $210. Not a fan of Fractal? Feast your eyes on the NZXT H9 Flow in all-white for a super clean look, at $100 instead of $165. Or, how about Lian Li’s A3 mATX small PC case for $90 instead of $100? Whatever your preference, I think we can all agree there are some amazing case options there, and those are clearly some good prices, too.
Newegg has ABS pre-builts, too
But let’s say you don’t want to start building yourself and would much rather start from a working machine? Newegg has a ton of pre-built ABS rigs on sale, too. The Cyclone with an Intel Core i5, Intel Arc B580 GPU, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and 1TB solid-state drive is $800 during the sale, normally $1,200. What’s great about pre-built is that you can upgrade the hardware more, and it doesn’t have to be done right away. So, you get a working computer to plop down on your desk or in your gaming space, and then you can upgrade as your budget grows. You still get a fully working system initially, not just parts lying around waiting for you to assemble the rig. More deals are coming on October 6 and 7 as part of the FantasTech sale.
Either way, I highly recommend checking out these Newegg sales for yourself. Even if you’re just window shopping. You’re bound to find something you need or want.
