The other day someone asked me why I don’t create more video content. The straight answer is that I’m a writer, not a videographer or a photographer. I might enjoy creating other media, sometimes, but it’s not what I’m really about. That’s a shame, because today’s society is all about short, quick snippets and bite-sized information, very few people want to read.

That said, the videos I create for Techigar are more like supplementary content. The quick overviews of products are for the people that are probably never going to read my reviews or content. The social media posts are for people who love social media. It’s probably not a surprise that I hate social media. I try to avoid using it as much as possible. Either way, I post that kind of content where applicable and when it makes sense. Not every product requires a video overview or warrants producing something like that.

This isn’t going to be a long-winded rant and an extensive post. That’s pretty much all I have to say on the matter, but rather than continue answering several people, I thought it best to create a quick editorial post. Now you understand why I don’t create more video content for Techigar, like running a full-blown YouTube channel. I’ll save that for my peers, like Caleb Denison, who already does an amazing job with that kind of content.

Stay techy everyone.
