Every year for the past few years anyway, the Intel Gamer Days promotion has celebrated what it means to be an enthusiastic and RGB-loving gamer with some excellent deals. But it’s also a time when Intel’s partners reveal some pretty crazy stuff, like Newegg’s recently unveiled PC gaming arena, built at its headquarters in Diamond Bar, California. Called the Newegg Gamer Zone, it’s a 2,300 square-foot, “cutting edge” gaming arena chock full of PC gaming stations, more immersive tech like VR, racing simulators, console gaming stations and more.

According to Newegg’s press release, “The Gamer Zone showcases over $200,000 in state-of-the-art hardware and technology, establishing a premier destination for gaming innovation.” It’s also light-blasted wall to wall with fever-inducing RGB, and not just from the PCs and peripherals either. Nearly every wall-mounted TV is lined with RGB strips. They run along the baseboards near the flooring. RGB strips also run along the top of walls, under counters, and other indiscriminate areas.

The grand opening of the center shows quite a few people enjoying the space. Hell, I would, too, it looks like a badass playzone for gamers. It’s a shame they didn’t come and build something like this in my playroom.

Why did Newegg build a PC gaming arena at its headquarters?

It’s a valid question. While Newegg does make a pretty penny selling PC gaming hardware, and consumer electronics, in general, why would they need a huge gaming arena like this at their headquarters? Newegg stated that they joyfully crafted it “with a mission to bring people together through the power of technology.

As a company deeply rooted in the DIY and gaming communities, Newegg designed this space to be more than a showcase, it’s a hub for connection, creativity, and learning.

They hope the venue will serve as a home for:

  • Showcasing new and innovative PC and gaming technologies
  • Hosting community or student programs, tech workshops, tournaments, and similar educational events
  • Empowering local streamers and creators by providing access to pro-grade setups
  • Collaborating with businesses and institutions for special events

Although I’m not entirely sure what they would do if a streamer permanently took up residence in the gaming zone. With the extended streaming times many of these gamers follow these days, there’s bound to be someone spending 24/7 in the space. Maybe they should have installed a couple more showers or bathrooms? What about a kitchenette? I mean, it does look like they have a full bar in there, so that’s always a plus.

What exactly is in the Newegg PC gaming arena?
