The BOOX Miro Pro series brings e-ink display technology to the desktop, allowing you to use a quality monitor with your computer, laptop, and compatible devices.
You might recognize BOOX from its selection of unique devices like the Palma 2. This time they’re dropping something a little different, although, definitely on-brand. Instead of a tablet or e-reader, they’ve introduced the BOOX Mira Pro Series e-ink display. In short, it’s an eye-friendly e-ink monitor that brings the technology to your desktop in a big way — and now it’s in color. The display technology is very close to real paper and ink, about as close as you can get, with no backlight, making it refreshing and easy on the eyes compared to traditional screens. But the original Mira Pro was a monochrome screen, which may not be ideal for some.
More to the point, the BOOX Mira Pro (Color Version) is a 25.3 inch color e-ink display that offers a slight upgrade to the brand’s previous monochromatic design in the Mira Pro. Adding the vibrant color doesn’t take away from the paper feel and clarity of the base technology. It enhances it, actually, with 16 levels of grayscale and 4096 colors. These are soft colors, mind you, that aren’t harsh on the eyes, especially in the low-lighting of an indoor office.
Don’t worry if you like your screens a little brighter, because there are adjustable dual-tone front lights built-in. Those ensure you can see the display in any lighting conditions. The Mira Pro also offers swift responsiveness, with a dedicated physical refresh button to remove ghosting, an ergonomic stand, VESA interface support for mounting, and easy connections for peripherals. Those connections, or ports, include HDMI, mini HDMI, USB Type-C, DisplayPort, and a DC power port.
You also get:
- Temperature and brightness-adjustable front lights
- Multiple Super Refresh modes: Reading, Speed, Normal, and Text
- Dual speakers built-in
- Ergonomic stand that can lift, tilt and pivot
- Maximum resolution: 3200 by 1800
- Aspect ratio: 16:9
- VESA configuration: 75 by 75
- A wide viewing angle
- Mira Pro monochrome: 145 PPI (Pixels Per Inch) resolution
- Mira Pro Color Version: 16 levels of grayscale and 4096 colors
- Compatible with Windows x64, Windows x32, Mac, and Linux
What’s the difference between an e-ink display and a standard one?
Electronic ink or e-ink displays, also sometimes called e-paper, are designed to emulate the look and feel of printed paper and ink. Despite being digital, many of the properties are similar to working with physical print. Most screens rely on reflected light, delivering a monochromatic experience in greys, blacks, and light colors. The Mira Pro (Color Version) flips that tradition on its head by offering a beautiful, color-friendly display that still utilizes the best e-ink properties.
As for why you would want one. Typically, they use less power, they’re easier on the eyes, especially during long sessions of use, and bright light or blue light from OLED and LCD displays can throw off your circadian rhythm. That’s precisely why e-ink displays are often used for e-readers, tablets, and smaller devices. They’re both more natural and comfortable to use. The BOOX Miro Pro (Color Version) is no exception to that rule, and brings the technology to your standard desktop computer, or whatever you want to plug into it — laptops included.

Who is it for?
Windows, Linux, and Mac users who want an e-ink display for their desktop, similar to an e-reader or tablet experience. You can choose between Mira Pro monochrome and Mira Pro color versions.
